We are always looking for motivated undergraduate students in the College of Science and Engineering. Please reach out directly to Xiang or to the lab member whose project interests you to set up a meeting. No prior experience is necessary.

If you have not yet been admitted to our graduate program, feel free to reach out to Xiang directly to set up a meeting, though joining the group is contingent on your admission to the Chemical Engineering or Material Science PhD program.

If you are already admitted, for the 2026–2027 advisor selection cycle we are looking for candidates interested in drop impact, microswimmers, and active fluids. Please reach out to Xiang or current graduate students in the group to learn more about ongoing projects.

We welcome inquiries from postdoctoral candidates with a strong research background in soft materials and fluid mechanics. Please email Xiang directly with your CV, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information for two to three references.
